Arts and Crafts. We see it listed that way all the time, as though they are nearly the same. But are they the same? A well crafted table isn't art, or is it. Craftsmen that work their whole lives perfecting there skills rarely call themselves artists. Artist who cover themselves with paint and roll naked over canvas rarely call themselves craftsmen.

  1. So, that could be it. Art is the attitude that I take to my craft? Rolling nake sounds great but doesn't require much skill. Maybe cleanliness? So a great craftsman can be an artist but an artist isn't necessarily a skilled craftsman. Maybe when the two elements combine great art can be created?
and then, maybe it is art just because I say it is and you choose to believe it? The more you believe it the more I can charge? Why would anyone even paint a damn soup can when you could take a photo of it? or go to the local grocer and get the original? Art is an investment and worth more if signed. But remember, you have to die first! Jerry

  2. If you get rolled by a naked artist, are they crafty?
